What a day!

TL;DR: Played video games in the morning and had a fun day at the city center, had diarrhea, spent 120€ more than I wanted today. #morkkis

Woke up at ~1 am, played thru Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded (too bad that it was released yesterday), decided to go to supermarket and then to the city center around 7am to get a haircut at the A&K student shop and to buy some T-shirts from Tokmanni that were supposed to be there for 2.99€ each. I started biking and noticed that I already had passed the supermarket while thinking something else, so I just biked to the city center like a maniac because the road is kinda hilly between Kuokkala and city center. Arrived there around 7:30, but when I arrived at the barbershop, it had a note on the door that it had closed it's doors for the summer on Wednesday.

So, I parked my bike in front of the Body Action shop, then I was like "I'm not feeling so good", drank some water, but still felt really bad. In my head I said "my blood sugar is really low, I need to eat something, because I forgot to eat breakfast in the morning".

I swiftly moved to the pretty much only place open at that time, Wilhelmiinan Konditoria, at the bus station. I stepped inside, but I couldn't even make it fully inside the shop before I had to sit down on the stairs leading upstairs, because I felt really weak. I started ordering I think I most likely looked like I was drunk or using drugs, because I couldn't keep myself up and had to lean against the counter, my hearing and vision started to blur out and I started seeing stars as I ordered the 5.90€ breakfast, and I even had to change the card because I couldn't remember my visa electron password(!). I was totally in naturally sedated condition. I had to go and sit down to the table because I just couldn't handle it anymore, I had to apologize for the lady behind the counter because she had to bring my order to the table, because I just couldn't stand up anymore. After I had eaten the bagel and the fruits and vegetables and drank the juice, I felt better, but I still felt really weak after the coffee.

So after I had gathered myself a bit, I went to the market square just to be surprised that there actually was a market up at that time in the morning! I noticed there was a lot of strawberries, peas, fish and other local goodies available, but I decided to go to the K market next door to get a BROtein bar for a bit under 4€. I also had to notify a salesperson that some of the bars had seriously lower kiloprice than there was supposed to be. She thanked me.

Next, I went to Tokmanni just to realize it wasn't open until like 15 minutes later, so I sat down at the fast food buffet place table next door, but it didn't take long until I forgot that I took cream with my coffee, and my lactose intolerant stomach said to me "HERE COMES THE DIARRHEA!", so I had to find the nearest bathroom and FAST. Found it... LOCKED. Then I saw the "M WC 1€" sign, reached out for my wallet just to find that I don't have any 1€ coins, only 2€ and 50c coins. I went to the coffee shop next door and asked if they can exchange my 2€ coin to two 1€ coins, and she REFUSED! I said, but the toilet only takes 1€ coins, and then she turned into an angel and gave me a token for the bathroom for free! I went in to the first booth and I felt so relieved.

After that episode, I went back browsing for like half an hour in Tokmanni just to realize they didn't have the shirts in question AT ALL, I went window shopping at the biggest stores, because they all seemed to have sales at this time for some reason. Went to Anttila, Sokos, Suomalainen Kirjakauppa and some other places. Then I went to the Pelastusarmeija flea market to browse if they had anything interesting. There was a balalaika for 30€, but it looked like it wasn't in very good shape, so I left it there.

Because of the balalaika I remembered, hmm, I need new guitar strings, so I'll go to Musapörssi. I went there and holy crap! It was closing it doors for good today, so it was literally almost empty. they only had one bass guitar left and like three Behringer rack units for 30€ each and hella lot of different cables for 1€/m. The guitar strings were still really overpriced (8€, same strings 4.90€ at Thomann), so I didn't bother to buy them. They did have a boxful of recorders (the instrument everyone hated in elementary school) for 4€ each and a violin that I almost considered buying for 30€, but I decided not to. Instead I bought a mini-tripod mic stand for 3€, and I just googled that they are around 10€ new, so I saved a few euros.

Then I went to the other music store in town, Musikantti. I tried all their sub 500€ acoustic guitars, the ironic thing was that I liked the sound and feel of the guitar the most that was second cheapest in there (some Ibanez with electronics, can't remember the model). After that I decided not to buy any of them, but I just casually asked if they had Tune Bot (drum tuning peripheral), and they did, so I bought that instead for 95€. Kinda regret it because I'm going to NYC soon so I most likely could've gotten it cheaper there, but oh well. You only yolo once, right? Then I asked if they knew any other flea markets in town, they directed me to the Eko Center, but more about that later.

After that I went to the shop just a few doors down to ask if they had any C-cassette players for dirt cheap - they didn't. Only for expensive price. After that I went a few more doors down to some turkish pizzeria and ate their 5€ pizza, ordered vegetariana. Too bad that all the veggies were pickled, so it kinda ruined the experience, but I've had worse. Just took a cautionary toilet trip after it, so that the above-mentioned-like situation wouldn't happen again today. At least I did remember to drink a lot of water today, since it was relatively hot day.

Then I went to Record Shop X and asked if they had "Never Mind The Bollocks". They did, but it was some 2 CD deluxe package for fucking 25€. Fuck that shit. I also heard Chino Moreno's new project, Palms, and it sounded really good! I must check it out on Spotify.

Then I went and got my bike and cycled towards Eko Center and noticed that I really hate riding uphills with this bike, because it makes helluva rattle on the easiest gear, and being obese makes pedaling really hard, even on the easiest gear. Might need to get it fixed or sell the bike to the newcomers (Anyone wanna buy a bike in the Fall? Hit me up). Eko Center had changed a bit, and I felt really exhausted again when I went inside because I am still a fairly fat person and out of shape. Drank some more water, browsed around and ended up buying a 1992 Finnish rock classic that has a character that the ownership of this album is considered either something to be proud of or something to be ashamed of: Neon2 - "Polku" CD for 1€. Includes hits like "Kemiaa", "Tässä Talossa" and "Polku".

After that I had another sip of water, started pedaling towards Kuokkala, and was like, DAMN, this weather is kinda nice, so instead of biking up the Kuokkala bridge, I went under it and to the Lutakko beach for some time. I didn't have a watch or cellphone with me so I have no I head how long I was there, but I think max an hour, more likely close to half an hour. But just to relax a bit and to dry off the sweat.

Then I went home and started writing this message after telling this story in short form to my flatmate, who also is suffering from this heat. But anyway, in the end I didn't really get ANY of the stuff I went there to do - I didn't go to the grocery store, I didn't get a haircut, I didn't buy guitar strings, I didn't get the T-shirts, but I did still have a blast and got the Tune Bot!

So, how was your day?
